Sungai Tekala

Last Sunday after I came down from Broga Hill, I suddenly recalled that a friend said there is a nice waterfall nearby there. So, all of a sudden, I decided to try take a look the place .. though my stomach is kinda hungry already actually. Look at my watch, it was already 10 am.

I went there anyway thinking of there might be good breakfast overthere.. after driving ~14km from Semenyih, I reached there. The place called Sungai Tekala, the entrance fee is RM1 for adult and RM0.50 for kids (12-year-old and below).

In summary, this place is good for recreation. Suitable for mandi-manda, BBQ and camping as well. If you just wanna take a walk in the evening also I think it is a good idea as well .. There are few levels of waterfall you can try, but for those bringing kids, I would suggest you stay low. The higher you go, the higher the risk. The stones are more slippery on the higher level areas, thus adults as well must be really consciously aware of the surrounding.

It is not wrong to enjoy and be happy, but we want the continuous happiness, not the temporary one. Thus, be careful and enjoyyy!

Enjoy the photos then ...

Take care.

ReThink @ Broga Hill

Last weekend I spent 2 consecutive mornings with my friend. On Saturday was with my long lost friend, used to be my university-mate, housemate and makan2-mate back in Penang .. Imad. And on Sunday was with with my best friend who just get married but need to be separated for awhile with his wife due to further study .. Specky.

Maybe many of you were asking, isn't that so boring, dull and static to just climb up Broga almost every weekend? Well for me, I found new things every time I hike there. Sometime the grass is not sooo green, sometimes its yellowish. Sometimes the wind is sooo strong, sometimes no wind at all. Not mentioning the different faces I saw every time I hike (or maybe I'm not that good in remembering faces as well) ..

However, I realize, there is single thing in common, that is .. every body seems happy up there. Like leaving all the problems at home and climb up without any burden in the head. Everybody talking to each other, joking, laughing, having breakfast .. so happening, so happy. Well, I think this is a very healthy culture. Once a week or once a month, you gotta find a place that can help you to forget all the problems and issues, at least for few hours. Only then, you will get momentum to look at the problems again.

As usual, below are some pictures from the weekend trips to Broga:

More Sunrise @ Broga Hill

I started to get addicted to hiking again. This weekend I went to Broga Hill for 2 days consecutively (Saturday and Sunday). Well .. on Saturday was a planned one and on Sunday was really sudden decision to bring my brother-in-law to go hike since I was overnight at my sis house in Kajang.

Up there at the 1st peak, there were TV3 crews interviewing few uncles. I overheard (not eavesdropping, ok!), one of the questions was "What motivate you to wake up early morning and go to hiking?"

My answer (in my heart) was, "Because I want to exercise and I feel relax when I'm bonding with the nature." :)

The truth is, hiking really give me some time-out from work, from problems, from issues in my head. At least spending time to look at the nature for 1-2 hours a week could provide new perspectives, new ideas, tranquil heart, fresh air, fresh mind, healthier life and to become more grateful to God.

Anyway, I got a better shots of the sunrise this time:
I feels so green when I look at this photo

My GPS read the altitude at 3rd peak was 371m

My ride ... :)

Different Perspective @ Broga Hill

Back in Penang, I actively went to hike Bukit Jambul almost every weekend. Once in a while, with a group of friends, I did jungle tracking and even 1 time I went to hike Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera). For those would like to know, Bukit Jambul takes about 15-20 mins to reach the top which is at ~200m altitude. Meanwhile Penang Hill takes about 3 hours to reach the top which is at ~750m altitude.

After about nearly 2 years I have stopped hiking, all of a sudden, my long lost ex-schoolmate, Firdaus Jenal (aka Nal) invited me thru the Facebook Event Invitation for a hiking program at Broga Hill. At first I'm not that interested since I've got company event on that day which COMPULSORY!

But then, after looking at the pictures taken at the Broga Hill in a couple of blogs, I decided that this is a 'must go' place. So I accepted the invitation and I woke up as early as 5am to get ready. At 6am sharp I reached the rendezvous point. After praying Subuh there, we started to hike up at ~7am. There were so many cars parked at the entrance there! We reached the 1st peak at ~7.40am .. here are the photo at the 1st peak:
Sunrise taken from the 1st peak.

So many people there! Behind them are the route to the 2nd peak.

After that we continued till the 2nd peak (my GPS read 344m altitude):
View from 2nd peak to the 1st peak.

View from 2nd peak to the 3rd peak.

I've to stop at the 2nd peak since I need to go to office for a company event. Most memorable was when crossing from 1st peak to the 2nd peak, there were strong wind blowing and at that moment I feels like not in Malaysia. I can't believe there is such a beautiful place in Malaysia, and it is just half-hour drive from the heart of the city, Kuala Lumpur.

Before I went down, just a group photo:

I would like to emphasize that, in this world, there are still lots of room to explore. Even in our surrounding, even in ourselves. Have we found out our real potential? Have we ever spend time to think of ourselves? What can we improve today to be a better person tomorrow? Each day and everyday, we should think of new perspectives, different perspectives, to become a better person, at least to ourselves, if not to the friends, family, nation and ummah. InsyaAllah!

p/s: thanks to the organizer, Farah and co-organizer, Nal for the nice event!
